Introduction

Roborock positions two of its most advanced offerings in the robot vacuum market during 2026. The Qrevo Curv 2 Flow arrives in February as a model equipped with a mopping roller and traditional LiDAR turret, whilst the Qrevo Edge 2, presented in May, opts for rotating mops and a design with retractable laser navigation. Both units represent the brand's premium range, with features designed for users seeking complete automation and professional results in home cleaning.

The choice between one or the other will depend on the type of home, the height of furniture and preferences in the mopping system. Each model presents different technical solutions that are worth analysing in detail.

Power and Suction

The power difference between both models is notable. The Qrevo Edge 2 reaches 25,000 Pa of suction, exceeding the Curv 2 Flow by 5,000 Pa. This advantage translates into greater capacity to extract ingrained dirt from carpets and tile joints, especially useful in homes with pets or high-traffic areas.

Both integrate the Roborock DuoDivide Antienredos main brush, a system that pushes hair towards the central gap preventing it from wrapping around the bristles. Both models lift this brush during mopping to avoid dragging wet dirt.

The most relevant difference in the side brush system lies in the strategy adopted. The Qrevo Curv 2 Flow lifts the side brush during mopping, whilst the Edge 2 opts for an extendable side brush that reaches corners better. The Curv 2 Flow incorporates a dual anti-tangle side brush system, compared to the Edge 2's single anti-tangle side brush. In practice, the brush extension on the Edge 2 improves coverage in corners, whilst the Curv 2 Flow's lifting prevents the brush from interfering with the mopping roller.

Mopping

Here we find one of the fundamental differences between both units. The Qrevo Curv 2 Flow mounts a 270 mm roller that rotates to mop the floor, a system that covers more surface area with each pass and proves effective on stuck-on stains. The Qrevo Edge 2 uses two rotating mops, more common in premium robots and which allow more controlled mopping with less risk of splashing.

The Curv 2 Flow lifts the mops up to 15 mm and adds a chassis lifting function to overcome obstacles, whilst the Edge 2 achieves 12 mm of lift. Both extend the mops to reach edges, but only the Edge 2 allows automatic removal of mops at the base when only vacuuming is desired, avoiding having to do it manually.

The Edge 2 mops with warm water, compared to the Curv 2 Flow's cold water. This feature improves the dissolution of grease and stuck-on dirt, especially in kitchens. Both models detect dirt on both the mops and the floor to adjust mopping, ensuring that dirtier areas receive additional passes.

Navigation System

The Qrevo Curv 2 Flow incorporates a traditional 3D LiDAR turret, which protrudes from the top of the robot. The Qrevo Edge 2 integrates a retractable LiDAR system that conceals itself when not in use, reducing the unit's total height to 79.8 mm. This difference of almost 40 mm in height allows the Edge 2 to access under low furniture, sofas and beds where the Curv 2 Flow would not fit.

Both robots feature an artificial intelligence camera, front 3D laser sensor, LED for night vision and remote camera access. The Edge 2 recognises 280 different objects, compared to the Curv 2 Flow's 200, which improves its ability to identify and avoid varied obstacles. Additionally, the Edge 2 detects curtains, a function that does not appear on the Curv 2 Flow and which proves useful for avoiding tangles.

Both models use SmartPlan 3.0, Roborock's intelligent cleaning system that analyses the home and automatically adjusts cleaning parameters according to floor type and dirt level.

Battery Life and Battery

Both robots mount a 5,200 mAh battery, but performance differs considerably. The Qrevo Curv 2 Flow offers 242 minutes of battery life, whilst the Edge 2 achieves 188 minutes. This difference of almost an hour is explained by the Edge 2's greater suction power, which consumes more energy.

For medium or large-sized homes, the Curv 2 Flow's battery life can make the difference, allowing cleaning to be completed in a single session without the need for intermediate recharges. The Edge 2, with its lower battery life but greater power, adapts better to homes that prioritise suction intensity over battery duration.

Smart Features

Both models overcome obstacles up to 20 mm in height, sufficient to navigate cables, thick carpets and small level changes between rooms. Both integrate their own voice assistant and compatibility with Alexa and Google Home, allowing the robot to be controlled via voice commands.

Multifunctional Cleaning Base

Both bases offer auto-emptying of the dust bin, mop washing with hot water and drying with hot air. The dust bag capacity is identical in both cases: 2.7 litres. The clean and dirty water tanks also match, with 4 litres and 3.5 litres respectively.

The difference lies in the washing tray self-cleaning system. The Qrevo Edge 2 incorporates version 2.0 of this function, whilst the Curv 2 Flow uses the standard version. This means deeper and more automatic cleaning of the tray on the Edge 2, reducing manual maintenance.

Neither model includes a detergent tank nor connection to water pipes, features reserved for other models in the Roborock range.

Dimensions

The diameter of both robots is practically identical: 353 mm on the Curv 2 Flow and 352 mm on the Edge 2. The major difference lies in height. The Curv 2 Flow measures 119 mm due to its conventional LiDAR turret, whilst the Edge 2 reaches only 79.8 mm thanks to the retractable system. This height reduction allows the Edge 2 to clean under beds, sofas and low furniture where the Curv 2 Flow cannot access.

The bases also differ in size. The Curv 2 Flow's is more square and compact: 450 mm in width, height and depth. The Edge 2's base is narrower (340 mm) but taller (521 mm) and deeper (487 mm). In practice, the Edge 2's base occupies less space in width but requires more clearance height.

The Curv 2 Flow incorporates a 324 ml dust bin in the robot, whilst the Edge 2 has 240 ml. The Curv 2 Flow has a water tank in the robot without specified capacity, whilst the Edge 2 has 67 ml. These differences have little effect on daily use, as both robots return regularly to the base for emptying and water refilling.

Real-World Experience

The Qrevo Curv 2 Flow proves more suitable for spacious homes where the 242-minute battery life allows cleaning to be completed without interruptions. Its mopping roller covers more surface area with each pass, speeding up the process in large houses. However, its 119 mm height limits access under low furniture.

The Qrevo Edge 2 excels in homes with low furniture and confined spaces under sofas and beds. Its 79.8 mm height allows it to clean areas inaccessible to other robots. The 25,000 Pa power and warm water mopping make it a solid choice for homes with pets, carpets and persistent dirt. The ability to automatically remove mops at the base adds convenience for those who alternate between pure vacuuming and mopping.

Both models adapt well to homes with pets thanks to the DuoDivide Antienredos brush. The Edge 2, with its greater object recognition and curtain detection, reduces the risk of getting stuck. The Curv 2 Flow, with its greater battery life and larger dust bin, requires fewer manual interventions in large-surface homes.

Conclusion: Which to Choose?

Choose the Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow if: you live in a large house where the 242-minute battery life makes the difference, you prefer a mopping roller that covers more surface area with each pass, and the height of your furniture allows passage of a 119 mm robot. Also if you value a larger dust bin (324 ml) and a dual anti-tangle side brush system.

Choose the Roborock Qrevo Edge 2 if: you need to access under low furniture thanks to its 79.8 mm height, you seek maximum suction power (25,000 Pa) for carpets and pet hair, you prefer mopping with warm water to remove grease, and you value the convenience of automatically removing mops at the base. Its greater object recognition capacity (280) and curtain detection also make it more versatile in homes with varied obstacles.
