Introduction

We're looking at three robot vacuum cleaners with multifunctional bases launched in 2025, albeit with clearly differentiated approaches and features. The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 3, introduced in November 2025, represents Dreame's most comprehensive offering in this segment. The Mova E40 Ultra arrives as an alternative from Dreame's sister brand, sharing many features but with some strategic cutbacks. The Roborock QV 35A positions itself as a more restrained option from the world's leading brand in cleaning robotics.

All three units feature a multifunctional base that auto-empties dust, washes and dries the mops, ensuring minimal maintenance. However, differences in suction power, navigation systems and specific features mark out distinct territories for each model.

Power and Suction

The most striking difference between these models lies in suction power. The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 3 reaches 25,000 Pa, a figure that places it in the highest range of the current market. The Mova E40 Ultra stays at 19,000 Pa, still a very respectable power for most domestic situations. The Roborock QV 35A, with 8,000 Pa, marks a considerable distance from the other two.

In practice, this difference translates into the ability to extract ingrained dirt from carpets, pet hair or fine particles. For homes with medium or long pile carpets, the Dreame's advantage is evident.

All three models mount a SimpleTangle-type main brush, designed to reduce tangles. None features main brush elevation during mopping, something common in this price segment.

Regarding the side brush, the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 3 incorporates extension to better reach corners, a function absent on the other two. However, both the Mova E40 Ultra and the Roborock QV 35A feature an anti-tangle side brush, a characteristic the Dreame doesn't include. This difference may prove relevant in homes with long hair or pets, where the side brush tends to accumulate tangles frequently.

Mopping

All three robots use a dual rotating mop system, the current standard for effective mopping. Dreame and Mova share the mop extension function with Roboswing movement, which allows better reach to edges and slightly inserts the mop under furniture or protrusions. The Roborock QV 35A lacks this lateral extension.

Mop lift is practically identical: 10.5 mm on Dreame and Mova, 10 mm on the Roborock. Sufficient for low-pile carpets, although thicker carpets may be beyond the reach of all three models.

All mop with cold water, both on the floor and when washing mops at the base. Mop drying is carried out with hot air on all three units, which helps prevent bad odours and bacterial proliferation. None automatically dismounts the mops at the base to perform vacuum-only tasks, nor incorporates dirt detection for re-mopping.

Navigation System

All three models mount a LiDAR turret for laser mapping, guaranteeing precise and orderly navigation. All feature obstacle avoidance, albeit with different technologies.

The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 3 and the Mova E40 Ultra incorporate a front 3D laser sensor, which improves detection of low or complex objects. Additionally, both include pet recognition, a useful function for adapting cleaning when there are animals at home. The Roborock QV 35A dispenses with both features, relying solely on its LiDAR system and basic avoidance algorithms.

None of the three is equipped with an AI camera, night vision LED or remote camera access. Nor do they detect curtains specifically.

Regarding cleaning intelligence, Dreame and Mova employ CleanGenius, whilst Roborock uses SmartPlan. Both systems allow automatic adjustments according to floor type or detected dirt level, although neither includes AI stain recognition.

Autonomy and Battery

All three robots mount a 5,200 mAh battery, but declared autonomy varies significantly. The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 3 reaches 231 minutes, the Mova E40 Ultra achieves 210 minutes, and the Roborock QV 35A stays at 180 minutes.

These differences primarily respond to energy consumption derived from suction power. The Roborock, with lower power, should offer greater autonomy, but curiously it's the one that lasts the least. This may indicate different optimisations in energy management or internal components.

For large homes, the Dreame's autonomy offers a greater safety margin. In medium-sized flats, all three should complete cleaning without problems on a single charge.

Smart Functions

All three models can overcome obstacles up to 20 mm in height, sufficient to navigate most transitions between rooms or small level changes. None incorporates a robotic arm or its own voice assistant.

All are compatible with external voice assistants such as Alexa or Google Home, allowing control via basic voice commands.

Multifunctional Cleaning Base

All three bases perform auto-emptying of the dust container, mop washing with hot water and drying with hot air. Important differences appear here in maintenance and convenience.

The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 3 includes third-generation washing tray self-cleaning, a function that prevents dirt accumulation in the base itself. Neither the Mova E40 Ultra nor the Roborock QV 35A feature this characteristic, which implies periodic manual cleaning of the tray.

The detergent tank is integrated in the Dreame, is optional (purchased separately) on the Mova, and simply doesn't exist on the Roborock. Whilst not essential, it automatically dispenses product during mop washing, improving mopping hygiene.

The Dreame also offers a plumbing connection kit as an optional accessory, something the other two don't contemplate. It should be clarified that this kit is purchased separately and doesn't come as standard.

The dust bag capacity is 3.2 litres on Dreame and Mova, versus 2.7 litres on the Roborock. Clean water tanks are 4.5 litres on the first two and 4 litres on the Roborock; dirty water is stored in 4-litre tanks (Dreame and Mova) and 3.5 litres (Roborock). These differences may translate into less frequent maintenance on the Dreame and Mova models.

Dimensions

The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 3 robot measures 350 mm in diameter and 97 mm in height. The Mova E40 Ultra shares exactly the same measurements. The Roborock QV 35A has a 353 mm diameter and 96.5 mm height. Minimal differences that don't affect the ability to pass under furniture.

The bases present more notable variations. Dreame and Mova measure 340 mm wide, 457 mm deep (456.7 mm on the Mova) and around 590 mm in height. The Roborock QV 35A has the same width, but 487 mm depth and only 521 mm height. This makes the Roborock's base visibly more compact in height, although somewhat deeper. For spaces with vertical limitations, the Roborock may fit better.

Real-World User Experience

The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 3 emerges as the most comprehensive option for large homes with carpets and pets. Its 25,000 Pa power makes a difference on medium-pile carpets, and the 231-minute autonomy allows covering large surfaces without interruptions. The extendable side brush improves corner cleaning, and the tray self-cleaning reduces manual maintenance. The mop extension with Roboswing adds points in edge mopping.

The Mova E40 Ultra offers an interesting balance. It shares many features with the Dreame, including the 3D laser sensor and pet recognition, but with power reduced to 19,000 Pa and without an extendable side brush. In return, it incorporates an anti-tangle side brush, an advantage in homes with long hair. The absence of tray self-cleaning and the optional detergent tank reduce convenience, but it remains a very capable unit for most situations.

The Roborock QV 35A targets users who prioritise brand reliability and don't need extreme power. With 8,000 Pa, it works correctly on hard floors and thin carpets, but is limited on more demanding carpets. The absence of a 3D laser sensor, pet recognition and mop extension places it a step below in features. The smaller tanks imply greater maintenance frequency. Its more compact base may prove an advantage in reduced spaces.

Conclusion: Which to Choose?

Choose the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 3 if you're seeking maximum power and comprehensive features. Ideal for large houses with carpets, pets and the need for prolonged autonomy. The tray self-cleaning and integrated detergent tank minimise maintenance. The extendable side brush and mop extension improve corner and edge cleaning. It's the most advanced option in this robot vacuum cleaner comparison.

Choose the Mova E40 Ultra if you want a balance between features and price. It shares technology with the Dreame in navigation and pet recognition, with sufficient power for most homes. The anti-tangle side brush proves practical if there's long hair at home. You sacrifice tray self-cleaning and extendable side brush, but maintain the essential functions of a high-end robot.

Choose the Roborock QV 35A if you prioritise brand reputation and have a home with hard floors or thin carpets. The more compact base may fit better in reduced spaces. It's not the best option for demanding carpets nor for those seeking the latest technologies in navigation or edge mopping. It works well in less demanding scenarios, backed by Roborock's historical reliability and its excellent application.
