Introduction
When we talk about high-end robot vacuum cleaners, the choice becomes complicated. The Dreame Matrix10 Ultra arrives in 2025 with the intention of challenging the most advanced models from Roborock, the brand that dominates the global sector. Facing it, we have two proposals from Roborock: the Qrevo Curv from 2024 and the newly arrived Saros 10R from 2025. All three share the same philosophy: complete multifunctional bases, mopping systems with rotating mops, and advanced navigation technology with cameras and artificial intelligence.
We are looking at equipment designed for those seeking total automation in home cleaning. Medium or large homes, users with pets, mixed floors that require powerful vacuuming and effective mopping. The difference lies in the technical details that define the daily experience.
Power and Suction
Suction power marks a notable difference. The Dreame Matrix10 Ultra offers 30,000 Pa, a figure that widely exceeds the 18,500 Pa of the two Roborock models. In practice, this translates into greater capacity to lift ingrained dirt from carpets or drag heavy particles from parquet grooves.
The brushing system also varies. The Matrix10 Ultra features a dual brush, whilst the two Roborock models incorporate the DuoDivide anti-tangle system, designed to channel hair towards the centre and reduce tangles. All three models raise the main brush during mopping, preventing it from getting unnecessarily wet.
As for the side brush, the Qrevo Curv cannot raise it during mopping, which means it always works brushing the floor even when only mopping. The Matrix10 Ultra and the Saros 10R do raise the side brush, optimising the process. All three extend the side brush to better reach corners and feature an anti-tangle design.
Mopping
All use two rotating mops, but differences appear in execution. The Matrix10 Ultra extends the mops with Roboswing movement, a system that makes the robot perform a slight turn to introduce the mop under furniture or overhangs. The two Roborock models also extend the mops, although without that additional movement.
Mop lifting varies: the Matrix10 Ultra raises them 10.5 mm, the Qrevo Curv between 10 and 20 mm, and the Saros 10R between 12 and 22 mm. These differences influence when passing over carpets or thresholds.
Mopping with temperature is where the Dreame sets itself apart. The Matrix10 Ultra mops with hot water from the robot's internal tank, something that improves the dissolution of grease and adhered dirt. The Saros 10R uses warm water, a middle ground, whilst the Qrevo Curv works only with cold water.
Mop washing at the base also presents differences. The Matrix10 Ultra washes with hot water at 80°C, the same as the Qrevo Curv. The Saros 10R washes with water at 75°C. Mop drying is with hot air in all three cases, ensuring they don't remain damp after cleaning.
Only the Matrix10 Ultra and the Saros 10R can automatically remove the mops at the base, allowing pure vacuuming sessions without dragging dry mops across the floor. The Qrevo Curv doesn't have this function. All three detect dirt both on the mops and on the floor, adjusting re-mopping or re-washing as needed.
Navigation System
The Matrix10 Ultra is equipped with a retractable LiDAR, which hides when not in use, reducing the robot's total height. The Roborock models use conventional LiDAR turret on the Qrevo Curv and the StarSight 2.0 system on the Saros 10R. All three incorporate dual RGB camera with AI, front 3D laser sensor, LED for night vision, and remote camera access.
Obstacle recognition capacity is much higher in the Matrix10 Ultra: 240 different objects, compared to 108 for the Saros 10R and 62 for the Qrevo Curv. This means greater precision for identifying cables, toys, shoes, or pet excrement. All three recognise pets, but only the Matrix10 Ultra detects curtains, avoiding getting tangled in them.
The Matrix10 Ultra uses the AI Sage 15.0 processor with CleanGenius algorithm, whilst the two Roborock models feature RR Mason 11.0 with SmartPlan. The Saros 10R and the Matrix10 Ultra incorporate AI stain recognition, a function absent in the Qrevo Curv.
Autonomy and Battery
All three feature 6,400 mAh batteries, but autonomy varies. The Matrix10 Ultra reaches 260 minutes, the Qrevo Curv 240 minutes, and the Saros 10R 180 minutes. The Dreame's greater suction power doesn't excessively penalise autonomy, whilst the Saros 10R, despite having the same battery as the Qrevo Curv, offers less duration.
For large homes, the Matrix10 Ultra offers greater margin for continuous work before returning to the base.
Smart Functions
All three can overcome simple steps, facilitating passage between rooms with small level changes or thresholds. All include their own voice assistant and compatibility with Alexa and Google Home.
Multifunctional Cleaning Base
All three bases auto-empty the dust bin, wash and dry the mops. Auto-cleaning of the washing tray is more advanced in the Matrix10 Ultra, with a 3.5 generation system, compared to 2.0 in the two Roborock models.
The Matrix10 Ultra incorporates triple detergent tank, allowing the use of different products depending on floor type or dirt level. The Saros 10R has a single detergent tank, and the Qrevo Curv lacks this function. Only the Matrix10 Ultra includes an optional plumbing connection kit, although it must be purchased separately.
Automatic mop changing is exclusive to the Matrix10 Ultra, which can manage up to 3 pairs of mops, changing them when they're very dirty. This reduces manual maintenance in large homes or with pets.
Dust bag capacity is greater in the Matrix10 Ultra: 3.2 litres compared to 2.5 litres for the Roborock models. Clean water tanks are also more generous in the Dreame: 5.5 litres compared to 4 litres. The dirty water tank is 4 litres in the Matrix10 Ultra and 3 litres in the Roborock models.
Dimensions
The lowest robot is the Saros 10R at 79.8 mm in height, ideal for sliding under low furniture. The Matrix10 Ultra measures 89 mm, also competitive. The Qrevo Curv, at 103 mm, is the tallest and may have difficulties under low sofas or beds.
Diameter is similar in all three: between 350 and 353 mm. The bases vary more: the Saros 10R is the most compact in width (381 mm) and the Qrevo Curv the largest (450 mm in all three dimensions). The Matrix10 Ultra is 416 mm wide, 590 mm tall, and 457 mm deep.
Real-World Experience
The Dreame Matrix10 Ultra is designed for users seeking maximum automation. Automatic mop changing, triple detergent tank, and greater tank capacity drastically reduce maintenance. The 30,000 Pa power makes it especially effective in homes with thick carpets or pets that shed a lot of hair.
The Roborock Qrevo Curv is a solid option, although it lacks some advanced functions such as automatic mop removal or detergent tank. Its 103 mm height can be an inconvenience in homes with low furniture. It's suitable for those who prioritise Roborock reliability without needing the latest technology.
The Roborock Saros 10R combines the best of both worlds: Roborock reliability with advanced functions such as automatic mop removal, warm water for mopping, and liftable side brush. Its 79.8 mm height is its great advantage for passing under furniture. However, the 180-minute autonomy is the lowest of the trio.
Conclusion: Which to Choose?
Choose the Dreame Matrix10 Ultra if you're looking for maximum suction power, you have pets that shed a lot of hair, you value automatic mop changing and triple detergent tank, and you want the greatest capacity in water tanks and dust bag. It's the most complete option for large homes with high cleaning demands.
Choose the Roborock Qrevo Curv if you prioritise Roborock reliability, you don't need a detergent tank or automatic mop removal, and your home doesn't have particularly low furniture. It's a balanced option for those seeking a high-end robot without additional complications.
Choose the Roborock Saros 10R if you need to pass under low furniture, you value automatic mop removal and warm water for mopping, and you're not concerned about having lower autonomy. It's ideal for medium-sized flats where robot height is critical and you're looking for recent Roborock technology with advanced functions.
