Introduction
This comparison brings together three high-end robots launched between 2024 and 2025: the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 3, the Roborock Qrevo Edge S5A and the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 5. All three integrate a multifunctional base with auto-emptying, mop washing and drying, which places them in the premium segment of the market. Dreame and Xiaomi share a manufacturer in many cases, although each model presents differentiated technical solutions. Roborock, recognised worldwide for its reliability and application, offers here its proposal with the DuoDivide system and RR Mason 11.0 processing.
They are designed for medium or large homes seeking complete automation: powerful vacuuming, rotary mopping and minimal maintenance thanks to the multifunctional stations. The differences are concentrated in suction power, battery life, type of brush, tank capacity and water treatment in the base.
Power and Suction
The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 3 leads with 25,000 Pa, followed by the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 5 with 20,000 Pa and the Roborock Qrevo Edge S5A with 18,500 Pa. In practice, this difference is noticeable when vacuuming medium-pile carpets or food debris embedded in tile joints. All overcome obstacles of 20 mm in height, sufficient for transitions between rooms.
The main brush varies considerably. The Dreame mounts simple silicone, which reduces tangles but may not pick up coarse debris as well. The Roborock equips the DuoDivide system, designed specifically to push hair towards the central suction gap and minimise tangles; furthermore, its side brush is also anti-tangle. The Xiaomi opts for TriCut 3.0, which combines bristles with blades to cut tangled hair. For homes with pets, the Roborock's DuoDivide and the Xiaomi's TriCut offer clear advantages over the Dreame's silicone.
All three models include an extendable side brush, useful for reaching corners and skirting boards. However, only the Roborock and Xiaomi incorporate anti-tangle technology also in the side brush, which facilitates weekly maintenance.
Mopping
All employ two rotating mops. The Roborock rotates at 200 RPM, the Dreame at 180 RPM and the Xiaomi does not specify exact speed. More important than the revolutions is the extension system: the Dreame adds RoboSwing, a lateral movement that allows the mop to reach under furniture overhangs or door frames. The Roborock and Xiaomi extend the mops without this additional movement.
Mop lifting differs: the Xiaomi raises up to 15 mm, the Dreame up to 10.5 mm and the Roborock up to 10 mm. Those extra millimetres of the Xiaomi help protect short-pile carpets without the need to lift the mops manually.
The Roborock stands out for its dirt detection both on mops and on the floor, automatically re-cleaning stained areas. Neither the Dreame nor the Xiaomi include this function. In homes with children or pets, this automatic re-washing capability makes a difference.
Navigation System
The Dreame and Roborock mount conventional 360° LiDAR turret, whilst the Xiaomi uses retractable LiDAR, which explains its lower overall height (88 mm compared to 97 mm for the Dreame and 98 mm for the Roborock). This advantage allows the Xiaomi to access under more low furniture.
The Dreame and Xiaomi integrate front 3D laser sensor for obstacle detection; the Roborock does without it. The Dreame adds pet recognition through its CleanGenius 3.0 system, useful for avoiding feeder cables or scattered toys. The Roborock compensates with its RR Mason 11.0 algorithm and SmartPlan 2.0, which optimises routes according to the type of floor detected.
None equips a front camera with remote access or night vision LED, functions that do appear in higher-end models with integrated video surveillance.
Battery Life and Battery
All three mount a 5,200 mAh battery, but actual battery life varies. The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 3 reaches 231 minutes, the Roborock Qrevo Edge S5A reaches 180 minutes and the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 5 remains at 140 minutes. This difference may be due to software optimisations, motor efficiency or navigation system consumption.
For homes of more than 150 m², the Dreame offers sufficient margin to complete cycles without returning for intermediate charging. The Xiaomi, with 140 minutes, may require recharging on large surfaces or if intensive mopping is activated.
Smart Functions
The Dreame incorporates CleanGenius 3.0 with pet recognition, adjusting power and avoiding delicate areas. The Roborock uses SmartPlan 2.0 and RR Mason 11.0 algorithm, which adapts cleaning according to the type of floor. The Xiaomi confirms AI intelligent cleaning without detailing commercial name.
All three overcome obstacles up to 20 mm in height, sufficient for wooden floor transitions, short-pile carpets or sliding door guides. None mounts a robotic arm or own voice assistant, although all are compatible with Alexa and Google Home.
Multifunctional Cleaning Base
Here relevant differences appear. The Dreame washes the mops with cold water, whilst the Roborock heats the water to 75°C and the Xiaomi to 80°C. Hot water dissolves fats and adhered stains better, improving the hygiene of the mops between cycles. All three dry with hot air at 45°C (the Xiaomi does not specify exact temperature but confirms hot air), avoiding bad odours.
The Dreame integrates a detergent tank, dispensing product during mop washing; neither the Roborock nor the Xiaomi include this option. Furthermore, the Dreame offers an optional kit for connection to water plumbing, although it must be purchased separately and does not come integrated from the factory.
In terms of capacities, the Dreame mounts a 3.2-litre dust bag, 4.5-litre clean water tank and 4-litre dirty water tank. The Roborock equips 2.7 litres of bag, 4 litres of clean water and 3.5 litres of dirty water. The Xiaomi offers 2.5 litres of bag, 4 litres of clean water and 3.8 litres of dirty water. The Dreame requires fewer emptyings and refills in large homes.
The Dreame boasts third-generation tray self-cleaning, the Roborock version 2.0 and the Xiaomi confirms the function without specifying version. In practice, all keep the internal tray free of debris without manual intervention.
Dimensions
The Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 5 measures 88 mm in height, which allows it to enter under sofas and low beds more easily. The Dreame reaches 97 mm and the Roborock 98 mm. The diameter is similar: 350 mm in Dreame and Xiaomi, 352 mm in Roborock.
The bases also differ. The Dreame measures 340 mm wide, 590 mm high and 457 mm deep. The Roborock has 340 mm wide, 521 mm high and 487 mm deep. The Xiaomi reaches 360 mm wide, 572 mm high and 470 mm deep. The Roborock is the lowest, the Dreame the highest and the Xiaomi the widest. It is advisable to measure the available space before deciding.
Real-World Experience
In homes with pets, the Roborock Qrevo Edge S5A offers DuoDivide brush and anti-tangle side brush, reducing hair tangles. The Xiaomi provides TriCut 3.0, also effective. The Dreame, with simple silicone, may require more manual maintenance in this scenario.
For houses of more than 150 m², the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 3 provides 231 minutes of battery life, 3.2-litre bag and larger water tanks, minimising interventions. The Xiaomi, with 140 minutes, may fall short on large surfaces.
If more hygienic mopping is sought, the Xiaomi heats the washing water to 80°C and the Roborock to 75°C, compared to the Dreame's cold water. Furthermore, the Roborock detects dirt on mops and floor, re-cleaning stained areas without manual intervention.
The Dreame adds a detergent tank and RoboSwing movement, useful for mopping under furniture with legs. The Xiaomi, at 88 mm in height, accesses under more low furniture than its competitors.
Conclusion: Which to Choose?
