Introduction

The Mova Z50 Ultra and the Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow represent two high-end propositions within the robot vacuum market with multifunctional base stations. The former, launched in 2025, belongs to Mova, Dreame's second brand that seeks to position itself with premium features at more competitive prices. The latter is a 2026 model from Roborock, the world's leading brand in this segment, known for its reliability and the quality of its application.

Both devices are designed for users seeking total automation in home cleaning, with powerful suction capacity and advanced mopping systems that include automatic washing and drying of mops. The choice between one or the other will depend on specific priorities: autonomy, tank capacity, mopping technology or intelligent navigation.

Power and Suction

The difference in suction power is minimal but exists: the Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow offers 20,000 Pa whilst the Mova Z50 Ultra remains at 19,000 Pa. In practice, this variation will barely be noticeable in day-to-day use, although it may make some difference on high-pile carpets or with very ingrained dirt.

Where there are significant differences is in the main brush design. The Mova features the TriCut 3.0 system, which combines bristles with blades to cut hair and reduce tangles. The Roborock opts for its DuoDivide Antienredos technology, a design that pushes hair towards the central suction gap preventing it from wrapping around the brush. Both systems are effective, but the approach is different.

Both models lift the main brush during mopping to prevent it from getting wet and also lift the side brush. However, only the Mova Z50 Ultra includes an extendable side brush, which notably improves cleaning in corners and edges. The Roborock compensates for this with a double anti-tangle side brush, a design that also reduces the need for maintenance.

Mopping

Here we find substantial differences that may tip the balance depending on each household's needs. The Mova Z50 Ultra integrates a 100 mm wide roller that mops with hot water at 30°C, a feature that helps dissolve grease better and improves results in kitchens or areas with sticky dirt. The Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow uses a wider 270 mm roller but with cold water.

Mop lifting is another key point. The Roborock can lift them up to 15 mm, a height that allows it to pass over carpets without problems and avoid wetting them. The Mova remains at 7 mm, sufficient for thin carpets but more limited on thick carpets. Additionally, the Roborock includes Curv technology, which facilitates overcoming obstacles during mopping.

Both feature mop extension to better reach edges, although the Mova adds a specific mini side mop for this purpose. Both detect dirt on the mops as well as on the floor, which allows automatic re-mopping in dirtier areas.

Navigation System

Both robots feature a 3D LiDAR turret to map the home with precision and a front 3D laser sensor to avoid obstacles. Both include an AI camera, although the Mova boasts a dual camera, which in theory improves object recognition.

The Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow recognises up to 200 different objects, compared to the Mova's 160. This difference may be noticeable in homes with many items on the floor: toys, cables, slippers. Both identify pets and allow remote access to the camera for surveillance, as well as featuring LED for night vision.

An exclusive function of the Mova is curtain detection, which prevents the robot from getting tangled in them during cleaning. The Roborock does not include this specific feature. Regarding intelligent cleaning systems, the Mova uses CleanGenius whilst the Roborock opts for SmartPlan 3.0, both based on AI to optimise routes and cleaning times.

Autonomy and Battery

The Mova Z50 Ultra features a 6,400 mAh battery, clearly superior to the Roborock's 5,200 mAh. However, we do not have the autonomy data in minutes for the Mova, whilst the Roborock offers 242 minutes of continuous operation.

This greater battery capacity of the Mova should translate into greater autonomy, which is especially useful in large homes where the robot needs to complete cleaning without intermediate recharges. The Roborock, with its 242 minutes, covers medium-large surfaces without problems before needing to return to the base.

Intelligent Functions

The Mova Z50 Ultra can overcome obstacles up to 22 mm in height, slightly superior to the Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow's 20 mm. Although the difference is small, it may be relevant in homes with thick carpets or raised door thresholds.

Both robots incorporate their own voice assistant and are compatible with external assistants such as Alexa or Google Home, facilitating voice control and integration into home automation ecosystems.

Multifunctional Cleaning Base

Both bases include auto-emptying of the dust container, washing and drying of mops with hot water and air. However, there are important differences in their design and functionalities.

The Roborock incorporates self-cleaning of the washing tray, a function that reduces manual maintenance and prevents the accumulation of dirt in the base itself. The Mova does not include this feature, which means the tray will need to be cleaned manually more frequently.

On the other hand, the Mova Z50 Ultra has a detergent tank in the base, which dispenses product during mop washing to improve cleaning. The Roborock does not offer this option, which may be an advantage for those seeking deeper mopping results without manual intervention.

The dust bag capacity is clearly superior in the Mova: 4 litres compared to 2.7 litres. This means fewer bag changes and greater autonomy between maintenance. Regarding water tanks, the Mova also wins with 4.5 litres of clean water and 4 of dirty water, compared to the Roborock's 4 and 3.5 litres respectively.

Dimensions

The Mova Z50 Ultra measures 350 mm in diameter and 111 mm in height, dimensions very similar to the Roborock which reaches 353 mm in diameter and 119 mm in height. Those 8 mm less of the Mova may facilitate access under some low furniture, although the difference is minimal in practice.

The Mova's base is taller and narrower: 545 mm in height, 390 mm in width and 463.3 mm in depth. The Roborock has a more compact and square base: 450 mm in all three dimensions. This may influence the base's location depending on the available space in each home.

Real-world experience

For large homes, the Mova Z50 Ultra's greater battery capacity and its larger tanks in the base represent a clear advantage. Fewer recharges, fewer bag changes and greater autonomy between maintenance. The detergent tank also adds points if more intensive mopping without intervention is sought.

If there are pets at home, both models are solid options thanks to their anti-tangle systems and pet recognition. The Mova adds the extendable side brush which can better collect hair accumulated in corners.

For homes with thick carpets or many obstacles, the Roborock wins due to its greater mop lifting (15 mm) and its ability to recognise up to 200 objects. The self-cleaning tray also reduces maintenance, something that is appreciated with continued use.

The Mova's hot water mopping can make a difference in kitchens or areas with grease, whilst the Roborock's wider roller covers more surface area in each pass.

Conclusion: Which to choose?

Choose the Mova Z50 Ultra if: You live in a large house and value autonomy, both of the robot and the base. The 4.5 and 4 litre tanks, together with the 4 litre bag, notably reduce maintenance. Mopping with hot water at 30°C and the detergent tank are ideal if you seek deeper results on floors with grease or sticky dirt. The extendable side brush improves cleaning in corners, and its 111 mm height facilitates access under low furniture.

Choose the Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 Flow if: You prioritise the most advanced navigation technology with recognition of 200 objects and seek a robot from the world's leading brand in reliability. The 15 mm mop lifting is perfect for homes with thick carpets, and the self-cleaning tray reduces manual maintenance. Its more compact base may fit better in reduced spaces. If you don't need hot water for mopping and prefer a more automated system regarding cleaning of the base itself, this is your option.
