Introduction

The Dreame X60 Pro Ultra and the Roborock Saros 20 represent the new generation of robot vacuum cleaners with multifunction base that will arrive on the market in 2026. The Dreame model will launch in May whilst the Roborock will do so in February of the same year. We are looking at two high-end devices designed for homes seeking complete automation in cleaning, with advanced navigation systems, mopping with rotating mops and bases that take care of all maintenance.

The Dreame X60 Pro Ultra reaches 42,000 Pa of suction power, whilst the Roborock Saros 20 stays at 36,000 Pa. Both incorporate dual RGB cameras for object recognition, 3D laser sensors and anti-tangle brush systems. The most relevant differences lie in the power, the type of main brush, the mopping water temperature and some details in the cleaning base.

Power and Suction

The 6,000 Pa difference between models may seem significant on paper. The Dreame X60 Pro Ultra reaches 42,000 Pa whilst the Roborock Saros 20 sits at 36,000 Pa. In practice, this additional power can be particularly noticeable on medium or long pile carpets, where the extra suction helps extract more ingrained dirt.

The main brushing system differs between both. The Dreame features a dual HyperStream brush, a design consisting of two brushes anchored at one end to minimise hair tangles. The Roborock opts for its DuoDivide Antienredos system, which pushes hairs towards the central gap to facilitate direct suction. Both approaches work well against long hair and pet fur, albeit with different philosophies.

Both robots lift the main brush during mopping to prevent it getting wet and can also raise the side brush. Both models feature an extendable side brush to better reach corners, although the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra specifies that it includes edge extension. One important difference: only the Dreame incorporates a specific skirting board brush, a function that can prove useful in homes with skirting boards where dust accumulates.

Mopping

Both robots use two rotating mops for mopping, a system that offers better results than traditional dragging mops. Both extend the mops to better reach edges and lift them when they detect carpets or rugs. The lift on the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra is 21.5 mm, whilst the Roborock Saros 20 offers a range of 12 to 22 mm, slightly higher at its maximum point.

Where a notable difference appears is in the water temperature for mopping the floor. The Dreame X60 Pro Ultra uses hot water at 45°C, which helps better dissolve grease and stuck-on stains. The Roborock Saros 20 uses warm water, without specifying exact temperature. For kitchens or areas with greasy dirt, hot water makes a difference.

Both devices can automatically remove the mops at the base when you only want to vacuum, avoiding dragging dry mops across the floor. They also incorporate dirt detection both on the mops and on the floor, which allows going over dirtier areas or rewashing the mops when necessary.

Navigation System

The Dreame X60 Pro Ultra mounts a retractable LiDAR system, whilst the Roborock Saros 20 uses its StarSight 2.0 technology. Both integrate dual RGB cameras for object recognition using artificial intelligence, although the Dreame specifies that they are dual RGB cameras and the Roborock simply indicates dual camera.

Both robots incorporate a front 3D laser sensor for short-range obstacle detection, pet and curtain recognition. The Dreame can identify up to 320 different objects, compared to the Roborock's 300. The difference of 20 additional objects may translate into better recognition of less common items in the home.

Both models offer remote camera access and feature LEDs for night vision, allowing you to monitor the house from the mobile app. The Dreame highlights that its obstacle avoidance system includes specific lighting, although the Roborock also confirms active avoidance.

Runtime and Battery

The battery capacity is identical in both: 6,400 mAh. The Dreame X60 Pro Ultra mentions Power Master technology with intelligent management chip, but does not specify runtime in minutes. The Roborock Saros 20 also does not provide specific duration data. With batteries of the same size, actual runtime will depend on the consumption of each system, where the Dreame's greater power could slightly reduce operating time in maximum mode.

Neither manufacturer specifies charging time nor maximum recommended surface area in the available data.

Smart Functions

Both robots can overcome simple steps, a function that facilitates passage between rooms with small level differences or access to thick carpets. Both incorporate their own voice assistant and compatibility with external assistants such as Alexa or Google Home.

The Dreame X60 Pro Ultra uses the CleanGenius AI system for intelligent cleaning, whilst the Roborock Saros 20 employs SmartPlan 3.0. Both recognise stains using artificial intelligence and adjust cleaning according to the type of dirt detected.

Multifunction Cleaning Base

The bases of both robots perform auto-emptying of the dust container, mop washing with hot water and drying with hot air. They also execute self-cleaning of the washing tray with hot water to prevent bad odours. Both include a detergent tank to add product during mop washing.

The dust bag on the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra has a capacity of 3.2 litres, superior to the 2.5 litres of the Roborock Saros 20. This means fewer bag changes over time. The clean water tank is also slightly larger on the Dreame: 4.2 litres versus 4 litres. The dirty water tank is the same on both: 3 litres.

The Dreame offers a plumbing connection kit that is purchased separately, allowing even further automation of water filling and emptying. The Roborock does not have this option. Neither includes UV disinfection nor integrated plumbing connection as standard.

Dimensions

The Dreame X60 Pro Ultra has a diameter of 350 mm and a height of 79.5 mm. The Roborock Saros 20 measures 353 mm in diameter and 79.8 mm high. The differences are minimal: 3 mm in diameter and 0.3 mm in height. In practice, both robots will be able to pass under the same furniture and access similar spaces.

The Roborock specifies the dimensions of its base: 381 mm wide, 488 mm high and 475 mm deep. The Dreame does not provide this data. It is worth considering the available space for the base before deciding, especially if you plan to place it in a corner or under furniture.

Real-World Usage Experience

For large homes, the larger capacity dust bag on the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra reduces maintenance frequency. The also more generous clean water tank allows longer mopping sessions without refills. If you have pets, both anti-tangle brush systems work well, albeit with different approaches: the Dreame's HyperStream and the Roborock's DuoDivide have demonstrated effectiveness against long hairs.

The Dreame's hot water at 45°C makes a difference in kitchens or areas with grease. For homes with young children or where cooking is frequent, this function can prove decisive. The Roborock offers warm water, effective for general dirt but less powerful against stuck-on stains.

The Dreame's greater suction power (42,000 Pa) is particularly noticeable on medium-long pile carpets. If your home has many carpets or rugs, this advantage becomes important. For mainly hard floors, the Roborock's 36,000 Pa is more than sufficient.

The Dreame's skirting board brush can make a difference if your skirting boards accumulate dust easily. It is a detail that adds value in homes where this area requires frequent attention.

Conclusion: Which to Choose?

Choose the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra if: You are looking for the maximum available suction power and have medium or long pile carpets at home. Hot water at 45°C for mopping the floor interests you because you cook frequently or have young children. You value having a larger dust bag (3.2 L) and superior clean water tank (4.2 L) to reduce maintenance tasks. The skirting board brush proves useful to you. You are interested in the future possibility of adding the plumbing connection kit.

Choose the Roborock Saros 20 if: You prefer a brand with an established track record in the sector and reputation for reliability. The 36,000 Pa of power perfectly covers your needs on hard floors and short pile carpets. The DuoDivide Antienredos system convinces you with its specific design against hairs. You value the slightly superior mop lift range (up to 22 mm). The final price may be more competitive on this model, although this will depend on the market.

For large houses with pets and carpets, the Dreame X60 Pro Ultra offers advantages in power and tank capacity. For medium-sized homes with mainly hard floors, the Roborock Saros 20 provides excellent performance with the guarantee of a globally recognised brand. Both represent high-end options with complete multifunction base that minimise maintenance to the maximum.
