Introduction

We are looking at three high-end robot vacuum cleaners launched in 2025 that share more than meets the eye. The Dreame L50 Pro Ultra represents the commitment of an established brand, whilst the Mova P50 Pro Ultra and the Mova Z50 Ultra come from Mova, Dreame's second brand. All three units are designed for users seeking complete automation in home cleaning, with multifunctional bases that wash and dry the mops, as well as empty the robot's dust container.

The most striking difference between them lies not so much in power or navigation, but in the approach to the mopping system. Whilst the L50 Pro Ultra and the P50 Pro Ultra opt for the dual rotating mop system, the Z50 Ultra incorporates a wide roller for mopping. This technical choice marks different paths in terms of maintenance and results on the floor.

Key Differences at a Glance

  • The Dreame L50 Pro Ultra reaches 19,500 Pa of suction compared to 19,000 Pa on the two Mova models
  • The L50 Pro Ultra and Z50 Ultra battery has 6,400 mAh, whilst the P50 Pro Ultra has 5,200 mAh
  • The L50 Pro Ultra's main brush is a dual HyperStream brush, the Mova models feature TriCut 3.0
  • The Z50 Ultra mops with a wide roller and has hot water for mopping the floor, the other two use rotating mops with cold water
  • Only the Z50 Ultra does not automatically remove the mops at the base when you only want to vacuum
  • The L50 Pro Ultra is the lowest at 89 mm in height, the P50 Pro Ultra measures 103.8 mm and the Z50 Ultra 111 mm
  • The L50 Pro Ultra base includes third-generation tray self-cleaning, same as the P50 Pro Ultra; the Z50 Ultra does not have this function
  • The L50 Pro Ultra is compatible with a plumbing connection kit that is purchased separately
  • The Z50 Ultra has a 4-litre dust bag, compared to 3.2 litres on the other two

Power and Suction

The suction power of the Dreame L50 Pro Ultra reaches 19,500 Pa, exceeding the two Mova models by 500 Pa. This difference can be particularly noticeable on medium-pile carpets or when there is fine dust accumulated in tile joints. All three units raise the main brush when mopping, which prevents it from getting unnecessarily wet.

The main brushing system marks a relevant technical difference. The L50 Pro Ultra incorporates a dual HyperStream brush, a design with two brushes anchored at one end that significantly reduces hair tangles. In practice, this means less manual maintenance. The Mova P50 Pro Ultra and Z50 Ultra models feature the TriCut 3.0 system, which combines bristles with blades that cut tangled hair during operation.

All three robots have an extendable side brush that can be raised during mopping, as well as anti-tangle technology. This allows them to sweep corners better without interfering with the mop system when mopping the floor.

Mopping

This is where the differences become most interesting. The Dreame L50 Pro Ultra and the Mova P50 Pro Ultra use two rotating mops that extend laterally with Roboswing movement, a system that makes the robot perform a slight lateral movement to get the mop under ledges and furniture. The Z50 Ultra, however, opts for a wide roller for mopping and an extendable mini side mop.

Mop lift also varies. The two models with rotating mops raise them up to 10.5 mm, whilst the Z50 Ultra reaches only 7 mm. For homes with thick carpets, this difference can be decisive if you want the robot to pass over them without wetting them.

The Mova Z50 Ultra is the only one that mops with hot water from the base, which improves the dissolution of grease and adhered dirt. The other two mop with cold water. This function can make a difference in kitchens or areas where more grease accumulates.

Both the L50 Pro Ultra and the P50 Pro Ultra automatically remove the mops at the base when you only want to vacuum, preventing them from being dragged unnecessarily. The Z50 Ultra does not offer this option, which means it will always carry the roller mounted. All three robots detect dirt both on the mops and on the floor, adjusting mopping as needed.

Navigation System

The Dreame L50 Pro Ultra integrates a retractable LiDAR, which reduces the robot's overall height and makes it easier to pass under low furniture. The two Mova models use conventional LiDAR turret, which protrudes slightly but remains effective for mapping the home.

All three units feature dual camera with artificial intelligence, front 3D laser sensor and LED for night vision. The L50 Pro Ultra recognises up to 180 different obstacles, whilst the Mova models identify 160. All detect pets, curtains and allow remote access to the camera from the mobile app.

The L50 Pro Ultra's processor is the AI Sage 13.0, although the exact chip for the Mova models is not specified. All incorporate the CleanGenius system for intelligent AI-based cleaning and stain recognition.

Autonomy and Battery

The Dreame L50 Pro Ultra and the Mova Z50 Ultra share a 6,400 mAh battery, which gives them greater theoretical autonomy. The Mova P50 Pro Ultra features a 5,200 mAh battery, although curiously it offers 210 minutes of declared autonomy compared to the L50 Pro Ultra's 200 minutes. The Z50 Ultra does not specify autonomy in minutes.

In large homes, battery capacity can determine whether the robot completes cleaning in a single run or needs to return to the base to recharge. For surfaces over 150 square metres, it is worth considering this data carefully.

Smart Functions

All three robots can overcome obstacles, although with different capabilities. The Dreame L50 Pro Ultra overcomes simple steps, whilst the two Mova models reach 22 mm in height. This can be useful in homes with small level differences between rooms or high-pile carpets.

All include their own voice assistant and compatibility with Alexa and Google Home, which facilitates voice control without needing to open the mobile app.

Multifunctional Cleaning Base

All three bases empty the robot's dust container, wash the mops with hot water and dry them with hot air. This ensures that the mops do not develop bad odours or bacteria between cleans. All have a detergent tank to dispense product during mop washing.

The Dreame L50 Pro Ultra and the Mova P50 Pro Ultra incorporate third-generation washing tray self-cleaning, which reduces manual maintenance of the base. The Z50 Ultra does not have this function, so the tray will need to be cleaned by hand more frequently.

The Z50 Ultra's dust bag has a 4-litre capacity, compared to 3.2 litres on the other two. This can translate into emptying the bag every two to three months instead of every month and a half, depending on use.

Regarding water tanks, the L50 Pro Ultra carries 4.5 litres of clean water and 4 litres of dirty water. The P50 Pro Ultra has 4 litres of clean water and 3.5 of dirty water. The Z50 Ultra matches the L50 Pro Ultra with 4.5 and 4 litres respectively. For large homes, these tanks allow several mopping sessions to be completed without refilling.

Only the Dreame L50 Pro Ultra is compatible with a plumbing connection kit that is purchased separately, although it does not come integrated as standard. This can be interesting if you want to completely forget about refilling and emptying tanks, but it requires additional investment.

Dimensions

Height is probably the most relevant figure here. The Dreame L50 Pro Ultra measures only 89 mm tall thanks to its retractable LiDAR, which allows it to slip under furniture, beds and sofas with little clearance. The Mova P50 Pro Ultra reaches 103.8 mm and the Z50 Ultra reaches 111 mm, both with visible LiDAR turret.

If you have low furniture or beds with legs of less than 10 cm, the L50 Pro Ultra is clearly the most versatile option. All three have a 350 mm diameter, standard for robots in this range.

The bases also vary in size. The L50 Pro Ultra's is the tallest at 590.5 mm and the narrowest at 340 mm wide. The P50 Pro Ultra's is the widest at 420 mm but the lowest at 470 mm. The Z50 Ultra sits at an intermediate point. It is advisable to measure the space where you are going to place the base before deciding.

Real-World Usage Experience

For homes with pets, the Dreame L50 Pro Ultra's dual HyperStream brush drastically reduces the time spent untangling hair from the main brush. The Mova models with TriCut 3.0 also work well, but require slightly more attention. The 19,500 Pa power of the L50 Pro Ultra can be noticeable on carpets where dog or cat hair accumulates.

In homes with hard floors and a need for deep mopping, the Mova Z50 Ultra with hot water and wide roller offers a different approach that can be more effective in kitchens or high-traffic areas. The roller covers more surface in one pass than rotating mops, although it requires more manual maintenance as it cannot be automatically removed.

For homes with lots of low furniture, the height difference of the L50 Pro Ultra marks the user experience. Being able to clean under beds and sofas without manual intervention is a real advantage in day-to-day use.

The battery capacity of the L50 Pro Ultra and the Z50 Ultra is more suitable for large homes of over 120 square metres. The P50 Pro Ultra, with its smaller battery, may require intermediate recharging in large houses, although its 210 minutes of autonomy partially compensates for this difference.

Conclusion: Which One to Choose?

Choose the Dreame L50 Pro Ultra if you have low furniture and need the robot to pass under them without problems, you value the HyperStream brush system to reduce hair tangles, you live in a large house that requires a 6,400 mAh battery, and you are interested in the future possibility of connecting the base to plumbing via optional kit. It is the most complete option in navigation with 180 recognised obstacles and base with third-generation tray self-cleaning.

Choose the Mova P50 Pro Ultra if you are looking for a more economical alternative to the L50 Pro Ultra whilst maintaining similar features in mopping with rotating mops, you do not have particularly low furniture, and the 210-minute autonomy is sufficient for your home. The base is wider but lower, which may fit better in certain spaces. It also incorporates tray self-cleaning and the automatic mop removal system.

Choose the Mova Z50 Ultra if you prefer the mopping system with wide roller and hot water for very dirty floors or with grease, you need the larger 4-litre dust bag, and you do not mind doing without automatic mop removal or tray self-cleaning. It is the best option for kitchens and areas where mopping with hot water makes a real difference. The 6,400 mAh battery makes it suitable for large homes, although its greater height limits access under low furniture.
