Introduction

The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 and the Mova Z50 Ultra represent two distinct generations of robot vacuum cleaners with multifunctional base stations. The former arrived in 2024 as a well-established option within Dreame's premium range, whilst the Mova Z50 Ultra appears in 2025 incorporating more recent technologies. Both units are designed for users seeking complete autonomous cleaning, with the ability to vacuum and mop with minimal manual intervention.

Dreame manufactures the models under the Mova brand, which explains certain similarities in their overall architecture. However, the differences between these two units are notable in aspects such as suction power, mopping system, navigation and intelligent functions. The choice between one or the other will depend on the type of home, cleaning needs and available budget.

Power and Suction

The power difference between both models is considerable. The Mova Z50 Ultra offers 19,000 Pa of suction, practically double the 10,000 Pa of the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2. This gap translates into greater capacity to extract ingrained dirt from carpets and crevices, especially useful in homes with pets or high traffic.

The type of main brush also marks important differences. The Dreame mounts a simple silicone brush, effective at reducing hair tangles but with less agitation capacity. The Mova equips the TriCut 3.0 system, which combines bristles with blades designed to cut tangled hair during operation. Additionally, the Mova's main brush is liftable, which allows mopping to be optimised by preventing the brush from touching the wet floor.

As for the side brush, the Mova Z50 Ultra incorporates an extendable design that improves cleaning in corners, as well as being liftable during mopping and featuring an anti-tangle system. The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 does not include any of these features on its side brush. For homes with many corners or furniture against walls, these Mova functions can make an appreciable difference to the final result.

Mopping

The mopping systems of these robots follow completely different philosophies. The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 uses two rotating mops that spin at 180 RPM, a proven and effective design for most floors. It incorporates the RoboSwing system, which performs a lateral movement to extend the mops and better reach edges and areas under low furniture.

The Mova Z50 Ultra opts for a wide roller that applies 18N of constant pressure on the floor. This approach is especially effective on stuck-on stains and persistent dirt. Instead of an extendable mop, it includes a fixed mini side mop that complements the roller at the edges. Mop lifting reaches 7 mm on the Mova, sufficient for medium-thickness carpets, whilst the Dreame reaches up to 10.5 mm.

Water temperature marks another substantial difference. The Mova mops with hot water at 36°C, which improves the dissolution of grease and difficult stains. The Dreame uses cold water. This Mova feature can be decisive in kitchens or areas with regular greasy dirt.

Regarding mop maintenance, the Mova Z50 Ultra washes its mops with hot water at 75°C, a temperature that helps eliminate bacteria and organic residue more efficiently than the Dreame's cold water washing. Both dry the mops with hot air at 45°C, preventing bad odours and bacterial proliferation.

The Mova incorporates dirt detection on both the mops and the floor, automatically adjusting the cleaning process according to the level of dirt detected. This function is not present on the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2, which maintains more static cleaning patterns.

Navigation System

Both robots integrate 360° LiDAR turret to map the home and front 3D laser sensor to detect obstacles. However, the Mova Z50 Ultra adds dual camera with artificial intelligence, a feature absent on the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2.

This dual camera on the Mova allows recognition of up to 160 different obstacles, including specific curtain detection to avoid tangles. Remote access to the camera enables supervision of cleaning or even monitoring the home from a mobile phone. The night vision LED complements this function, allowing the cameras to work properly in low-light conditions.

Both units recognise pets and feature the CleanGenius 2.0 system to optimise cleaning routes using artificial intelligence. The Mova adds AI stain recognition, detecting especially dirty areas to reinforce cleaning in those zones. In practice, this means the Mova can visually identify a stain on the floor and act accordingly, whilst the Dreame relies mainly on predefined cleaning patterns.

Autonomy and Battery

The Mova Z50 Ultra mounts a 6,400 mAh battery, superior to the 5,200 mAh of the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2. This greater capacity is logical considering that the Mova has greater suction power and additional functions that consume energy.

The Dreame specifies an autonomy of 240 minutes in standard mode, sufficient for medium-large homes in a single charge. The Mova does not detail this data, although its higher capacity battery suggests similar or superior autonomy, especially in reduced power modes.

Intelligent Functions

The ability to overcome obstacles is slightly superior on the Mova Z50 Ultra, with 22 mm compared to the 20 mm of the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2. Although the difference is minimal, those additional 2 mm can be decisive in homes with irregular floor transitions or high-pile carpets.

The Mova Z50 Ultra integrates its own voice assistant, allowing commands to be given directly to the robot without needing to use a mobile phone or external assistants. Both models are compatible with Alexa and Google Home, but the inclusion of an integrated assistant on the Mova adds convenience for quick queries or starting spot cleaning via voice commands.

Multifunctional Cleaning Base

Both bases perform auto-emptying of the dust container, washing and drying of mops, and include a detergent tank. The dust bag capacity is 3.2 litres on the Dreame and 4 litres on the Mova, which can translate into one or two additional weeks between bag changes in the case of the Mova, depending on the home's dirt level.

The clean and dirty water tanks are identical on both: 4.5 and 4 litres respectively. This capacity allows several mopping sessions to be completed without needing to refill or empty manually.

The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 offers a plumbing connection kit that is purchased separately, allowing automation of water filling and emptying. The Mova Z50 Ultra does not have this option even as an optional accessory. For users seeking maximum autonomy and not wanting to deal with water maintenance, the Dreame offers this possibility, although it requires additional investment and installation.

Dimensions

The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 measures 97 mm in height, which allows it to access under furniture and beds with little ground clearance. The Mova Z50 Ultra reaches 111 mm, a difference of 14 mm that may limit its access to certain spaces. In homes with low furniture or beds with reduced base height, this difference can be decisive in determining which areas each robot can clean autonomously.

The diameter is identical on both: 350 mm. The base dimensions differ slightly. The Dreame's base measures 340 mm wide, 590.5 mm high and 456.7 mm deep. The Mova's is wider (390 mm) but less tall (545 mm), with similar depth (463.3 mm). It is advisable to measure the available space before deciding, especially if planning to locate the base in a tight space.

Real-World Usage Experience

For large homes with multiple rooms, the Mova Z50 Ultra offers clear advantages: greater suction power, larger battery, higher capacity dust bag and advanced navigation functions that optimise cleaning time. Its hot water mopping system is especially useful in kitchens and high-traffic areas where grease and stuck-on dirt accumulate.

In homes with pets, the Mova's TriCut 3.0 brush and its anti-tangle side brush reduce manual maintenance. The greater suction power also helps extract hair embedded in carpets and upholstery. The Dreame, with its silicone brush, also handles hair well, although it requires slightly more attention on the side brush.

The height of the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 makes it a better option for homes with many low pieces of furniture. Those 14 mm of difference can mean accessing or not under sofas, beds or wardrobes with reduced legs. If the home's layout includes many hard-to-reach spaces, this factor can compensate for other technical limitations of the Dreame.

Remote access to the Mova's camera adds a security and supervision component that some users will value, especially if they spend long periods away from home or have pets requiring occasional monitoring. The Dreame does not offer this possibility.

Regarding maintenance, both robots simplify tasks thanks to their multifunctional bases. The Mova's hot water washing reduces the frequency of manual mop cleaning, whilst the Dreame's plumbing connection option (although requiring additional purchase) may be attractive for those seeking maximum automation.

Conclusion: Which to Choose?

Choose the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 if: you're looking for a robot with reduced height to access under low furniture, you value the future possibility of connecting the base to plumbing to completely automate water maintenance, or you prefer the mopping system with rotating mops and RoboSwing extension. It is also suitable if your budget is tighter and you don't need advanced visual navigation functions or hot water mopping.

Choose the Mova Z50 Ultra if: you prioritise maximum suction power and effectiveness on carpets, you need hot water mopping for floors with grease or difficult stains, you value advanced navigation functions with dual camera and obstacle recognition, or you want to monitor your home via remote camera access. It is the best option for large homes with pets, thanks to its higher capacity battery, larger dust bag and complete anti-tangle brushing system. The integrated voice assistant and automatic dirt detection add convenience to daily use.
